I followed the intuition that God gave me, and in doing so, I realized that a full-time corporate job just wasn’t for me. As an Arts & Design student, my on-the-job training gave me a glimpse of the 9-to-5 life, and I quickly saw that it wasn’t the right fit for my personality. I felt like my creativity would fade away in a corporate setting, so I chose the path of working for myself instead.
When the pandemic came, I decided to take a gap year to figure out what direction I wanted to go before diving into college. During that time, I tried freelancing, and that’s when everything clicked—I didn’t want to be part of the traditional system. Instead, I turned to alternative education, seeking guidance from mentors who helped me shape my journey.
At first, I offered graphic design and video editing online, leveraging my background in multimedia arts. I worked for free (not doing that anymore!), did my own market research, and collaborated with influencers, podcasters, and business owners.
I took action and failed countless times, but I’ve come to embrace it as part of the process. I once thought I could find shortcuts, but this is a long game, one I’m truly happy to play.
I believe it comes from embracing my inner creativity and spirit. As we grow older, we often stop doing the things we loved as kids and we even stopped to be curious. I think bringing a sense of childlike wonder into my work can make it feel more like play. That’s the energy I want to infuse into the content I create and share with others. 🧸
You become what you believe and where you put your mind to will become your reality! (so be careful of the thoughts you create in your head)
I pray, meditate, and do my morning pages. The Artist’s Way taught me.
Claude Monet! I’m a fan of his work. Also Tammy at Uncomfy Co, she makes cute polymer clays and so good at storytelling!
